Mario Cardona Lang
Mario Cardona Lang is a prominent visual storyteller, cinematographer, producer, and director born in San Jose, Costa Rica. He is the founder of Zen Entertainment, a renowned film, documentary, and commercial production company in Latin America. Additionally, he has established ZenZero, an innovative internationally recognized carbon-neutral production model.
During his teenage years, he extensively traveled throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe, sparking his interest in the arts and entertainment. He studied Psychology and Cinematography at the University of Paris, drawing inspiration from notable cinematographers such as John Alcott, Nestor Almendros, Giuseppe Ruzolini, Michael Ballhaus, and Haskell Wexler. This exposure led him to explore the intricacies of the human psyche, the beauty of nature, and the art of conveying emotions visually and musically, skillfully blending artistic concepts and technical expertise.

Mario Cardona Lang is visual storyteller, cinematographer, producer and director. Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, he is the founder of the critically-acclaimed Latin American film, documentary and commercial production company Zen Entertainment and the international carbon-neutral production model ZenZero
While traveling extensively in his teens throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe, he began to develop his interests in the arts and entertainment. He studied Psychology and Cinematography at the University of Paris and was inspired by cinematographers, John Alcott, Nestor Almendros and began work with Giuseppe Ruzolini, Michael Ballhaus, and Haskell Wexler. Cardona Lang began to explore the subtleties of the human psyche, the splendor of nature, and how to express emotion visually and musically blending both concept and technique.
Nicolas Wong
I was born in Lima, Perú in 1988. My family is Peruvian and Chilean, and I’ve lived in Costa Rica since 1993. I graduated from Film Direction in the Universidad Veritas Escuela de Cine y Televisión in San José, Costa Rica. I have worked as a cinematographer in 18 feature films in Costa Rica, Guatemala, México and Cuba. The films I have shot have been shown in several international festivals and awards, such as the Festival de Cannes, Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, Sundance, The Golden Globes, San Sebastián, IFF Rotterdam, Venezia, Toronto IFF, BAFICI, FIC Guadalajara, among others. Apart from having lensed “Domingo and the Mist”, I also produced it and it premiered at the Festival de Cannes Un Certain Regard 2022.
I am an active and voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars), as well as a founding and active member of the CCR (Costa Rican Society of Cinematographers). I have also been the recipient for the Costa Rica National Culture Award in 2016 (El Sonido de las Cosas) and 2020 (La Llorona) for Outstanding Contribution in a feature film.
Andres Chinchilla
Andrés is a Costa Rican cinematographer, obsessed with moving images. He knows in depth all the processes behind an audiovisual project. He has worked for brands such as: McDonald’s, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Delta Airlines, ONU, Starbucks, Corona Extra, Marriot, Bacardi, amongst many others. He had his beginnings as a camera assistant where he strengthened and developed his skills in the audiovisual world, discovering a passion for camera movement. He is known for his extensive experience in automotive commercials specifically for his high speed moving shots. Andrés has worked on commercial campaigns for brands such as: Lexus Costa Rica/ Lexus Japan, Toyota, Hino, Subaru, Ford, Volkswagen. He is known for his expertise with camera cars and gimbals and everything that involves camera movement.
